thankU.ca is a design brand focused on unique modern handcrafted furniture for tasteful living.

Founded in 2011 by Martin Byers while studying fine furniture and joinery at Camosun College in Victoria BC, the business started as a way to pay for Martin's final semester of school. Creating unique culinary items for local restaurants, quickly evolved into a fine furniture line by its first public appearance at the 2012 Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) in Vancouver, where the simple modern lines of the Abacus desk concept became an instant success, along with the incredibly comfortable curve backed chair; a remake of a chair designed and built at least 35 years prior by his father Robert Byers.

thankU.ca has been growing and refining its furniture designs from its tiny shop in North Saanich on Vancouver Island, to supply demand for beautiful one of a kind furniture pieces throughout BC and as far as Norwalk Connecticut. Through direct collaboration with customers Martin creates a design partnership—by encouraging input and in asking the right questions—the final product is a tailored furniture piece designed for function and beauty.
